Mike Bakker

Dutchman Heating & Cooling, Inc.
Chair Elect 2021

I have been working in the heating and air conditioning field since I was 16. My dad owned a heating and air conditioning business on the south side for which I worked for several years before moving to DuPage County. I worked for a few larger companies in the area, both as a Service Technician and as a Service Manager, doing residential and commercial work. I then decided it was time to branch out on my own as the business practices did not always coincide with my values. I feel that quality of service and installation should be the top priority in an HVAC company. If the products are not installed properly, they will not function properly or provide the efficiency or capacity levels for which they were designed. This attention to detail is what separates us from our competitors and is the nitch in the industry we fill.

In 2005, my dream of owning and running my own business became a reality. The former owner of Pent-Air, Inc. (a Naperville business for over 30 years) sold his business to me in the interest of retiring in a few years. We changed the name of the business and it is now Dutchman Heating and Cooling, Inc. We are a Christian owned business and have been since 1975.

Utilizing my 30+ years of technical experience as well as conducting extensive research, I have found the American Standard product line to be the best in the industry. I firmly believe in the quality of these products. While I work on many different types of equipment, I have found the American Standard product line to be exceptional and to aid in efficiency. I consistently use them for replacement of existing equipment or adding new equipment.

Providing exceptional technical service goes hand in hand with exceptional customer service here at Dutchman Heating and Cooling. Through proven high standards, Dutchman is proud to be selected as an American Standard Customer Care Dealer. This program gives you the comfort in knowing you are dealing with a company which is committed to providing excellent customer service, better educated employees, and the capability to handle each customer’s specific needs and provide the best possible solution. We have not only committed to these standards but have been recognized as the leader. In 2010, we were selected as the Dealer of the Year. We obtained this recognition in the greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana area. A survey taken by our customers resulted in 100% referral ratings and 99% customer satisfaction scores. We obviously stand behind our work.

We do our best to be accessible to you and are a member of the Chamber of Commerce and have also been nominated for the Small Business of the Year Award. In addition, we are a member of the Better Business Bureau (A+ Rating). We are proud to be complaint free as well as never having a complaint to resolve to this day. We work hard to maintain a high level of excellence to ensure our customers are happy and their equipment is working efficiently, the way it is meant too.

We are committed to providing the best possible level of service and look forward to helping you reach the comfort level you desire in your home or business.

We have had a lot of success formerly as Pent-Air, Inc. and now as Dutchman Heating & Cooling, Inc. We have had dramatic growth and are continuing to strive to be the best in the industry. We certainly have been blessed and are very thankful to the Lord for his grace to our business and us. To all our customers, we thank you. We are committed to always earning your business!

Benjamin Bukowiec

Window Genie of Naperville and East Aurora

After growing up in rural, central-Wisconsin, Ben attended school at the University of Wisconsin – Madison where he majored in marketing, management and human resources. He spent the next 5 years working as a district manager for ALDI foods – first managing a region in Wisconsin and later in east Tennessee. Within ALDI, another year was spent as a real estate project manager and two more as a director of national buying. After moving to a management consulting firm for a year, Ben decided his passion was in working to recruit and develop front-line workers in a more consumer-facing role and decided to open up a Window Genie franchise.

Window Genie specializes in exterior home care – providing services for interior/exterior window washing, house washing, concrete/patio/driveway/deck pressure washing, and gutter cleaning as well as window film installation and holiday lighting. All service technicians are fully trained, background checked, and insured. Through Window Genie, Ben is fulfilling his passion to directly impact customers’ experiences as well as provide a positive working environment for his technicians.

Johnathan Cedeno

Volts & Watts

Born in Mexico, raised in Chicago, and father to two handsome boys. When moving to Naperville (after working 15 plus years in the trades), I decided it was time to embark on the journey of entrepreneurship. With the help of my wife, we made the necessary sacrifices to see Volts & Watts take off and provide for our family. We're a small electrical business of three but are as productive as any other competitor. Having a broad understanding of electrical theory and circuits, translates our work ethic to being efficient, trouble-shooting experts. Our main focus, thus far, is maintenance service for commercial and residential. As we prepare to grow, we do not draw back from new builds in all of the Chicago-land area. LICENSED AND BONDED.
