NACC's monthly Lunch with a Leader series highlights one local Leader in a friendly, sit-down atmosphere. Sit side-by-side community leaders and fellow chamber members around a king's table as we learn about the professional and personal journey of our leaders over a plated meal. Registration is required as we are unable to accommodate walk-ins with limited seating.

Steve presently serves as co-managing partner for a portfolio of commercial real-estate holdings in Naperville, Illinois area, Minnesota, and California.

Steve Rubin and Fred Stowell founded Kitchens To Go in 2000.  As a leasing company, KTG provides production kitchens and related facilities, on an interim and permanent basis in support of major renovation projects, disaster relief and special events throughout the country, and internationally.  KTG’s spectrum of commercial clients includes hospitals, universities & colleges, hotels, government, sports & entertainment venues. KTG was sold to McGrath Rent Corp. in 2021.

A formal partnership was established in 2004 between KTG and Carlin Manufacturing, resulting in successful one-stop solution alignment, by Steve Rubin, Fred Stowell and Ralph Goldbeck for the design, manufacturing, leasing & sales of mobile, modular, and containerized commercial kitchen facilities.

Prior to Kitchens To Go, Mr. Rubin acted as the CEO of Culinary Enterprises, a leading catering / special events organization, consisting of six distinct catering divisions.  Culinary Enterprises’ major venues & events included the Kentucky Derby and The Ravinia Festival, US Open & Senior Open Golf tournaments.

Rubin earned a BS in Physical Distribution Management (logistics/time motion studies) from the University of Southern California.  Upon graduation, he entered the US Marine Corp rising to the rank of Colonel; retiring after 30 years in 2008.  His Marine Corps reserve billets included Executive Officer of a Medical Battalion and Command Anti-terrorism / Force Protection Officer.  His final assignment, prior to retirement was as a Marine Emergency Preparedness Officer, representing DOD to civilian authorities in FEMA Region V & VII, comprising the ten states of the upper Midwest.

Steve has and continues to serve on many civic and charitable boards and committees.  He served the local and regional United Way system for twenty years with his last position as the President of Suburban Chicago and Vice Chair of the United Way of Chicago. Completed two terms on the board of the DuPage Children’s Museum followed by serving KidsMatter.

Currently Steve serves as a trustee on the board of North Central College, also chairs the Downtown Core Strategic Planning Committee for the City of Naperville, Illinois.  He is married and has three daughters and a great son-in-law.
