Registration for Naper Settlement’s new Golden Days program for active older adults and seniors is now open. Adults 55+ are invited to participate in a variety of FREE monthly programs that promote community connection and physical and mental well-being. From birdwatching to chair yoga, the 25+ scheduled programs cover a variety of activity levels and interests and take place in Naper Settlement’s 13-acre outdoor museum campus.
Through the work of Rep. Janet Yang Rohr, D-Naperville, Naper Settlement received the funding to launch and continue the Golden Days program through 2027. The program will have a direct positive impact on the Naperville area by increasing access to enriching outdoor experiences for senior citizens in the local community, many of whom face barriers to accessing green spaces, making intergenerational connections, and participating in structured activities due to mobility issues and financial constraints.
“Each program provides a free opportunity for older adults to learn something new, connect with their community, and enjoy the museum’s unique outdoor green spaces," said Jessica Toran, director of education. “Thank you to Rep. Janet Yang Rohr for recognizing and advocating for these important programs that will reduce social isolation and provide free programming to hundreds of seniors in DuPage County.”
